We are seeking a Service Engineer (Plant) to join a growing company in the low-carbon energy sector. This is an exciting entry-level opportunity for someone looking to develop a career in commercial plant and heat networks. You will work under the guidance of the Technical Manager, gaining hands-on experience across mechanical PPMs, reactive call-outs, planned repairs, and project work, helping to improve network reliability and efficiency.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Work under the supervision of the Technical Manager to complete planned preventative maintenance (pumps, actuators, plate heat exchangers, pressurisation units, degassers).
  • Carry out repairs, fault-finding, and reinstatement of commercial plant equipment.
  • Attend reactive call-outs to sites to restore heat and resolve plant failures.
  • Review root causes for plant failures and implement operational improvements.
  • Manage site-based project work and develop scopes for plant remediation.
  • Maintain accurate records in maintenance systems.
  • Communicate effectively with team members and external clients.
  • Ensure safe isolation of equipment before commencing work.

Requirements

Candidate Requirements:

  • Completed a basic construction course or T-level, with a genuine interest in this industry.
  • 1+ years of experience as a Commercial Plant Engineer or similar role is desirable but not essential.
  • Basic electrical competency and understanding of safe isolation procedures (mechanical and electrical).
  • Full UK driving license (valid for at least 12 months).
  • Organised, self-motivated, and positive with good communication skills.
