Description of the role and key  responsibilities

In essence it is a 2-year apprenticeship  programme – 3 weeks induction in the classroom & workshop 

The apprentices are on site 6/7 weeks and  then the academy for 1 week - it will run like this for 21 months until they  enter gateway to complete the 3-month End Point Assessment qualifying at the  end of this. 

Below is a brief description of the job role  

Role Purpose – Key responsibilities: 

·       Measure, cut and fit plasterboard to walls, ceilings, and  partitions 

·       Fix metal or timber studwork and track systems 

·       Install insulation materials where required 

·       Tape, joint and prepare boards for finishing 

·       Work from drawings, specifications and site  instructions 

·       Use hand and power tools safely and effectively 

·       Maintain quality standards while meeting project  deadlines 

·       Follow health and safety procedures at all times 

·       Collaborate with other trades on-site 

Eligibility

The applicants should be 18 and have  completed GCSEs preferably including Level 2 English and Maths (preferred not  essential).

Experience required

· CSCS  card

· UTR  number 

· Completed  GCSEs preferably including Level 2 English and Maths (preferred not  essential).
