Description

This funded training course provides learners with the knowledge and practical skills needed to carry out professional domestic energy assessments and contribute to the UK’s drive toward energy efficiency and net-zero targets beyond 2030.

Participants will develop an understanding of:

  • Building physics: heat transfer, moisture movement, and thermal comfort.
  • The impact of building materials on energy performance.
  • The retrofit process, ensuring compliance with industry standards and effective implementation with the Domestic Energy Assessing course.

Learners will be trained to:

  • Conduct detailed building assessments to identify opportunities for energy efficiency improvements.
  • Use approved assessment tools and software for accurate analysis and reporting.
  • Undertake energy assessments in a safe, effective, and professional manner.
  • Prepare and complete energy assessments for domestic properties.
  • Produce and explain Energy Performance Certificates (EPCs) in line with government requirements.

Learners who successfully complete this funded training will be equipped for roles such as:

  • Domestic Energy Assessor (DEA)
  • Retrofit Assessor / Coordinator
  • Energy Consultant
  • Sustainability Manager

This pathway offers excellent opportunities for career progression within the construction, energy, and sustainability sectors to progress onto higher level Non-Domestic Energy Assessment (NDEA) qualifications, such as the City & Guilds Level 4 Diploma in Non-Domestic Energy Assessment.

This pathway also allows you more flexibility to train during evenings and weekends.

To qualify for the level 3 Domestic Retrofit Assessment Programme, learners are required to:

  • Be aged 19+ years old.
  • Live in the Greater South East region (This includes the entire London area plus the counties of: Oxfordshire, Northamptonshire, Bedfordshire, Middlesex, Berkshire, Buckinghamshire, Hertfordshire, Essex, Lincolnshire, Cambridgeshire, Norfolk, Suffolk, Hampshire, Surrey, Kent, East Sussex and West Sussex.)
