If you’re interested in improving the energy efficiency of UK homes and exploring a career in retrofit, sustainability, property maintenance, or energy consultancy, this course is for you. Entry requirements
This course is suitable for anyone who is seeking to enter the field of sustainable buildings and retrofitting and wants to increase their skills and create new opportunities in sustainable construction and other related fields. This course would be suitable if you have previous experience in the following jobs or related industries.
- General Contractor Insulation Installer
- HVAC Technician
- Solar Panel Installer
- Plumber
- Electrician
- Project Manager
- Wind Turbine Installer
We don’t require previous experience or qualification within construction sector, but you should have Level 2 English or above and be able to understand and follow simple verbal instructions.

How will I be taught and assessed?
The course is delivered in person using a mix of interactive learning methods. You’ll learn through short lectures, workshops, demonstrations, and practical exercises to build both knowledge and confidence. Learners also get hands-on access to VR sessions, our immersive classroom, and training rigs, bringing real-life retrofit experience to every session.
At the end of the course there will be a 60-minute online exam. If you are successful in this exam, you will receive your qualification.

A pen or pencil and notebook for taking notes.
